Hello from beautiful, sunny and highly elevated Aspen! I’m here speaking at Fortune’s Brainstorm Tech Summit, so please forgive my shortness of breath in the upcoming brief…. I’ve never delivered tech updates from 14,000 feet above sea level. This week on The Brief we’re covering: Anthropic is worried about AI autonomously designing its next iteration, Google rolls out dedicated creator and publisher profiles in search, and Google wants to buy top-tier code to train its coding agents.
The vibe I’m feeling this week is in the gratitude for IRL events. The spontaneity, inspiration and human connections were in abundance. I came to Aspen to speak about Agentic commerce and AI, and expected the dark cloud of AI and fear to blanket the Summit. Fast forward 72 hours, and I found myself spending 1:1 time with Andrew Yang discussing our children and how to build better tech policy. I ran into Ryan Serhant and learned how he balances authenticity with the attention he garners from his millions of followers. I had dinner with Heidi Davis and was deeply inspired by how she’s shining a light on women’s health through her startup Peri.
My takeaway? Humans are amazing, and while the rate of technological change can feel so blindingly fast that it paralyzes us, we’re all in this together and can shape the future that lays ahead of us. It feels like the right time to boldly put one foot in front of the other and continue to move forward.
